2007 Green/Sustainable projects (through 5/07):
Project Outreach: A group of friends of West Berkeley have set up an air monitor to detect emissions from Pacific Steel Casting (PSC), a deadly long-term toxic polluter
located in the far western area of Berkeley, CA. The group will collect and analyze air borne pollutant data over the next six months and carry out surveys of illnesses in West Berkeley that have been linked to long-term exposure to PSC chemicals.
Denny Larson, Director of the non-profit Global Community Monitor (GCM) - an organization that promotes environmental justice and human rights for communities - helped acquire funds for the project. Check-out

Project Outreach: Some Berkeley and Oakland residents are creating a new retail + online Cooperative Grocery ("The CoG"). Founders believe that every person has the right to affordable food and goods that are
